| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Drupal is one of the best Open Source CMS and Blog applications. It enables you to easily create and manage your news- and articles-based website. Drupal is free to download and use, and is suitable both for small and large dynamic content sites. Drupal is a free and open source modular framework and content management system (CMS) written in the programming language PHP. Like many modern CMSs, Drupal allows the system administrator to create and organize content, customize the presentation, automate administrative tasks, and manage site visitors and contributors. Drupal is sometimes described as a "Content Management Framework"as its capabilities extend from content management to enabling a wide range of services and transactions. Although Drupal does offer a sophisticated programming interface, basic web site installation and administration can be accomplished with no programming. Drupal runs in many environments, including Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Solaris 10, OpenSolaris and any platform that supports either the Apache (version 1.3+), or IIS (version IIS5+) Web server and the PHP language (version 4.3.5+). Drupal requires a database such as MySQL or PostgreSQL to store content and settings. This book gives you insights in the techniques and technologies for building successful websites and online communities. You will learn about this powerful free software's ins and outs, become a community-building expert and examine successful Drupal sites. Get this book if you're a web professional, developer, designer, and decision maker interested in applying Drupal knowledge. This book covers an excellent introduction to the nuts-and-bolts of architecting and building Drupal sites. Examine dissections of some of the most popular Drupal sites out there and learn about important topics such as the processes for building and growing successful Drupal websites.

| Customer Reviews: Not worth it March 1, 2009 LHO (georgetown, ohio) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book has grammatical and tense errors, like it was translated from another language. That wouldnt be too bad though, if it actually had some useful information.
The worst technical book I've ever read July 9, 2009 M. Russell (Boston, MA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Truly horrendous. Unbelievably bad writing, zero useful content, painful to read. This book was self-published, which is understandable since I don't think an editor could stomach the work of trying to make it readable. Drupal is an awesome CMS, and there are some really great books available for it - but stay away from this one.
A Rip-Off December 16, 2009 Aaron M. Cohen (Los Angeles, CA, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I rarely think that any book is totally without redeeming value, and never have panned any book online. However, this book warrants a warning: do not buy it. It is a total waste of money, and its poor quality is not worthy of Amazon carrying it. Other reviewers have noted that it is a poor translation and is grammatically a mess. I will add that the the author should be ashamed to have his name on it. The content is oversimplified, incomplete, and essentially worthless. The book almost seems self-published. There is no publisher information and nothing about the author. The book has no graphics; most of its promised 100 questions are not even questions; there is no index, no bibliography, and no cross references.
There are some great Drupal books available, a great website, and great online tutorials. Cross this book off your list.
I should have read the other reviews! April 5, 2010 Cash Williams I'm not sure if I got confused or just skipped them, but please read this review and the others. THIS IS NOT A GOOD BOOK. Most of the content feels like it was pulled straight from [...], it is out dated and has bad recommendations in it. You'd be much better off just browsing the web for information.
I wish I could get my money back!
